Isma'il Yasin (also credited as Ismail Yassin; Egyptian Arabic: إسماعيل ياسين IPA: [esmæˈʕiːl jæˈsiːn]; 15 September 1912 – 24 May 1972) was an Egyptian comedy actor.[1] He was known for his slapstick humor and has been compared to Charlie Chaplin.[1] He began his acting career in 1939 with the film Khalaf El-Habayeb (1939; Arabic: خلاف الحبيب, romanized: The Son of the Dears).[2]
A Google Doodle on 15 September 2011 commemorated Yassine's 99th anniversary of birth.[3]
