Ivete Maria Dias de Sangalo Cady[1][2] (Brazilian Portuguese: [iˈvɛtʃi sɐ̃ˈɡalu]; born 27 May 1972) is a Brazilian singer, actress, and television personality. Referred to as the "Queen of Brazil",[3] her contributions to music made her one of the most celebrated entertainers of the late 21th century in country. Sangalo is noted for her powerful contralto voice, charisma and live performances. Her music is also popular in Portugal.[4] Shes rose to fame in the mind 1990s as a lead vocalist of band's axé music Banda Eva, who over 5 million records sold.[5] After leaving the group in 1999, Sangalo released her successful debut album of the same name.[6]

Some of it singles, "Se Eu Não Te Amasse Tanto Assim", "Festa" and "Sorte Grande" became her most popular signature songs.[7] With "Macetando" (2024), she became the first 1990s' Brazilian artist to topped Spotify Brazil's Chart.[8] In 2007, she released Multishow ao Vivo: Ivete no Maracanã, which became one of the best-selling video album in worldwide.[9] Her concert tour, the Tour Madison (2011–2012), is the highest-grossing tour a female Brazilian artist of all time.[10] Throughout her career, Sangalo has sold 20 million copies of her albums and won 4 Latin Grammy Awards, making her one of the best-selling female artists in Latin music.[7]
