John William Delany (Irish: Seán Ó Dubhshláine; 1769 – 1838) was an Irish luthier and maker of violins and violas from Dublin.[1][2] His instruments have become known for their unusual labels, often expressing his support for liberty and racial equality.[3][4] Two of Delany's violins are preserved as part of a collection in the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin.[5]
