John Leonard Jinks CBE FRS[1] (Stoke-on-Trent, 21 October 1929 – 6 June 1987) was a British geneticist. His untimely death at 57 cut short a distinguished career with many contributions in the fields of microbial genetics, cytoplasmic inheritance, and biometrical genetics.
