John Patrick Morrissey (born 31 December 1968 in Cork, Ireland) is an Irish microbiologist and biotechnologist. Since 2000 he has worked and taught as Professor of Microbiology at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. Recently he works mainly on the optimisation of yeasts for industrial biotechnology, but is also involved in the works with several other organisms.
