Joshua James Vela (born 14 December 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender or a midfielder for EFL League Two club Carlisle United.

Vela started his career with Bolton Wanderers, and made 182 total appearances for the club, during which time he also played on loan for Notts County. He then spent the first half of the 2019–20 season at Hibernian, before signing for Shrewsbury Town.
