Kaanchli: Life in a Slough is a 2020 Indian period drama film that was produced and directed by Dedipya Joshii,[3] and stars Sanjay Mishra, Shikha Malhotra,[4] Lalit Parimoo and Nareshpal Singh Chauhan. The film was co-produced by Shobha Devi and presented by Anup Jalota. It is based on a story by Vijaydan Detha, a folk-story writer from Rajasthan, India,[5] whose stories have been adapted into many films including Shah Rukh Khan's Paheli. Kaanchli, whose theme is social welfare, tells the story of a strong, self-reliant woman's struggle for survival.[5]
The film was released on 7 February 2020 at Carnival Cinemas,[6] and performed well at the Indian box office for two weeks.
