Kameshkirsky District (Russian: Камешкирский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,270 square kilometers (490 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Russky Kameshkir.[1] Population: 12,802 (2010 Census);[3] 14,404 (2002 Census);[6] 16,733 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Russky Kameshkir accounts for 41.9% of the district's total population.[3]
