Keegan is an Anglicisation of the Irish clan name Mac Aodhagáin. The name means "son (or descendant) of Aodhagán" (a diminutive of the Irish name Aodh, meaning "fire" or "fiery"). It is found in counties Wicklow, Dublin, Leitrim and Roscommon.[1]
