Keri Lynn Russell (born March 23, 1976)[1] is an American actress. She is known for her starring roles on stage and screen. Over her career she has received a Golden Globe Award as well as nominations for four Primetime Emmy Awards.
Russell started her career as a teen actor in the variety series The All New Mickey Mouse Club from 1991 to 1994. She played the title role in the drama series Felicity (1998–2002), which won her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama. She was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayals of Elizabeth Jennings in the FX spy thriller series The Americans (2013–2018) and Kate Wyler in the Netflix political drama series The Diplomat (2023–present).
She made her film debut in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) followed by starring roles in Eight Days a Week (1999), Mad About Mambo (2000), Waitress (2007), and Austenland (2013). She took ensemble roles in We Were Soldiers (2002), Mission: Impossible III (2006), August Rush (2007), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), and Cocaine Bear (2023).
On stage, she acted in the Neil LaBute's off-Broadway play Fat Pig (2004-2005), and made her Broadway debut in the Lanford Wilson revival Burn This (2019). Since 2021, she has been married to fellow actor Matthew Rhys with whom she co-starred in The Americans.
