Komsomolsky District (Russian: Комсомо́льский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia.[1] It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,220 square kilometers (470 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Komsomolsk.[1] Population: 20,263 (2021 Census);[6] 19,482 (2010 Census);[2] 22,042 (2002 Census);[7] 27,708 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Komsomolsk accounts for 42.9% of the district's total population.[6]
