Krasnobakovsky District (Russian: Красноба́ковский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Krasnobakovsky Municipal District.[4] It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,757.8 square kilometers (678.7 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Krasnye Baki.[1] Population: 22,524 (2010 Census);[2] 26,047 (2002 Census);[6] 27,151 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Krasnye Baki accounts for 32.4% of the district's total population.[2]
