Kumtorkalinsky District (‹See Tfd›Russian: Кумторкалинский райо́н, Kumyk: Хумторкъали якъ, Xumtorqali yaq) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is located in the east of the republic. The area of the district is 1,270 square kilometers (490 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Korkmaskala.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 24,848, with the population of Korkmaskala accounting for 31.1% of that number.[3]
