Kurgan Wheel Tractor Plant named after D. Karbyshev (JSC "Rusich", Russian: Курганский завод колёсных тягачей имени Д. М. Карбышева (ОАО «Русич»)) was a manufacturer of special heavy automotive machines. It operated since 1950 to 2011 and was located in Kurgan, Kurgan Oblast.[1]
The plant produced automobiles, special chassis, truck tractors and semi-trailers which are used by the Ministry of Defence (Russia) and oil and gas producing companies. As a part of this, there are heavy-duty ballast tractors that are used for aerodrome-towing aircraft weighing up to 200 tonnes.
On April 25, 2011 the factory was declared bankrupt by Arbitral Court of Kurgan Oblast.[2] [3] Production capacity was liquidated. Real estates were partly repurposed.
