Genus of grasses
Leptochloa is a widespread genus of Asian, African, Australian, and American plants in the grass family .[ 5] [ 6]
Members of the genus are commonly known as sprangletops .[ 1] [ 7]
The generic name is derived from the Greek words leptos , meaning "thin," and chloa , meaning "grass," referring to the inflorescences .[ 8] [ 9]
