The song spent one week at number-one on the US R&B chart in the week of September 14, 1991, and also reached No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] On the US dance charts, it was the third and final number-one for the group.[3] It also peaked at number-one on the Canadian RPM dance chart.
