List of Shiva Temples in Pakistan

Shiva is a Hindu deity worshipped by Shaivaites as the Supreme Being and universal destroyer-of-ignorance. As one of the three main gods in the Hindu pantheon, there are temples dedicated to his worship across the Indian Subcontinent—primarily India and its union territories along with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Pakistan—as well as in other South and Southeast Asian countries with significant Hindu populations (like Cambodia, Indonesia—primarily BaliMalaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka). The most prominent of these temples are the Jyotirlinga temples and Mellacheruvu Swayabhu Shambhulingeshwara Swami, Telangana.

In Shaivism, Shiva is the supreme god of all life and universal creation, and is thus described as being worshipped by all, including fellow Devas (gods—such as Brahma, Vishnu and Indra), as well as Asuras (demons—incl. Banasura and Ravana), humans (like Adi Shankara and Nayanars) and animals, such as an eagle and a monkey-king (Jatayu and Vali, respectively). Furthermore, deities, rishis (sages), and grahas (planets) worshipped Shiva and established Shivalingas in various places.
