Lorien Legacies is a series of young adult science fiction books, written by James Frey,[1] Jobie Hughes, and formerly, Greg Boose, under the collective pseudonym Pittacus Lore.

The title of the series is taken from Lorien in the Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien, also called Lothlorien, it is an Elf realm in Middle Earth. In the Lord of the Rings, the Ent character Treebeard describes the full name as meaning "dreamflower", the element Lorien means dream.
