Luanzhou (simplified Chinese: 滦州市; traditional Chinese: 灤州市; pinyin: Luánzhōu Shì), formerly Luan County (simplified Chinese: 滦县; traditional Chinese: 灤縣; pinyin: Luán Xiàn), is a county-level city in the east of Hebei province, China. It is under the administration of Tangshan city. The city spans an area of about 1,027 square kilometres (397 sq mi),[1] and, as of 2024, has a population of 518,900.[2] The city's economy is largely industrial,[3] and it is home to large deposits of iron ore.[2]
