Marea (Ancient Egyptian: pr-mrt;[1][2] Ancient Greek: Μαρεη Mareē, Μαρεια Mareia, Μαρια Maria; Latin: Marea) was an ancient city in Egypt, located 45 km south-west of Alexandria, on the southern shore of Lake Maryut (ancient Mareōtis, Μαρεωτις).[3]
