Matthew Scott "Matt" Besler (/ˈbzlər/; born February 11, 1987) is a former professional soccer player. Primarily a left-sided central defender. Besler spent the majority of his career in MLS with Sporting Kansas City. From 2013 to 2017, Besler represented the United States national team, including at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
