Mecon (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Mecon (in Ancient Greek Μήκων, Mḗkо̄n, meaning "poppy"), also spelled Mekon, was a beautiful[1] young Athenian man, loved by the goddess Demeter who was transformed into a poppy.[2]
