Medial striate artery

Medial striate artery is a branch of anterior cerebral artery, rostral to the anterior communicating arteries. Clinicians may refer to this artery as Heubner's artery or the Recurrent Artery of Heubner. This artery supplies mainly the head of the caudate nucleus, as well as the lenticular nucleus (Putamen and Globus pallidus), and the anterior limb of the internal capsule.

The corpus striatum, which consists of the caudate and lenticular nuclei, gives this artery its name.
