Medynsky District (Russian: Медынский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kaluga Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,148 square kilometers (443 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the town of Medyn.[2] Population: 12,493 (2021 Census);[7] 13,347 (2010 Census);[4] 13,783 (2002 Census);[8] 14,655 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Medyn accounts for 65.6% of the district's total population.[7]
