Meerkerk is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, and lies about 9 km north of Gorinchem.
In 2001, the village of Meerkerk had 2281 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.71 km², and contained 818 residences.[3] The statistical area "Meerkerk", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 2310.[4]
