Mehdi Bakeri (Persian: مهدی باکری; 1954 – 16 March 1985) was an Iranian Azerbaijani military officer and prominent Iranian military figure in the Iran–Iraq War.[1][2] He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tabriz and participated in the Iranian Revolution against the Shah. Following the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq War, he joined to the IRGC and was killed in action in Operation Badr during the war.[3][4]
