Mehraban (Persian: مهربان)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Mehraban District of Sarab County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran.[4]
Mehraban or Mehrvan is one of the old towns in the suburbs of Tabriz. Mehraban is the base of the Parthian army to fight against the empire
It was Rome and Mehrvan plain was the place where Babak Khorramdin's troops fought against the invaders. This city is the center of Mehraban city with a population of 38, 000 people and is located sixty kilometers east of Tabriz. Mehraban, along with Tabriz and Haris, is one of the three main cities for the production of handwoven carpets in East Azarbaijan, and Mehraban is also the origin of traditional Iranian flour.
