Melito di Porto Salvo (Calabrian: Mèlitu; [Μέλιτος or Μέλιτο (Mèlitos] Error: {{Langx}}: Non-latn text/Latn script subtag mismatch (help)[clarification needed] or Mèlito) is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region Calabria, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) southwest of Catanzaro and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Reggio Calabria; and is also the southernmost municipality on the Italian Peninsula. It is part of the Bovesia Greek-speaking area of Calabria, occupying a hilly area which descends towards the Ionian Sea.
