Michael Ruane (ROO-ən) is an American semi-amateur midstakes[2][3] poker player who has cashed four times in the World Championship Series Main Event including two final tables. His first came in 2016, with a fourth-place finish for $2,567,003;[4] his second came in 2017, with a tenth place for $825,001.[5] He later finished in 147th place in 2022 for $62,500[1] and in 545th-place in 2023 for $32,500.[1]
Ruane experienced a subset of poker tactics by watching poker on TV and playing home games with friends and his twin brother — although it was his younger brother Sean who would become Ruane's poker companion. Ruane and Sean now live together in New Jersey.[2][6]
