Midea Station (Chinese: 美的站; pinyin: Měidì Zhàn; Jyutping: mei5dik1 zaam6) is a station of Guangzhou Metro Line 7, located underground on the northwest side of the intersection between Shunde Avenue and Midea Avenue in Beijiao Subdistrict, Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.[1] The station was opened on 1 May 2022, with the opening of the western extension of Line 7.[2][3]
Midea Station is named because it is close to Midea Group's headquarters. Although Guangzhou's subway station naming rules prohibit the names of commercial organizations from being used in station naming, this station is not in Guangzhou but in Foshan and is not subject to this restriction. Therefore, it is the first and possibly the only station in the Guang-Fo metro network that is entirely named after a commercial organization.[4]
