Mikhaylovsky District (Russian: Миха́йловский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the krai. The area of the district is 3,100 square kilometers (1,200 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Mikhaylovskoye.[1] Population: 21,211 (2010 Census);[3] 23,797 (2002 Census);[7] 24,044 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Mikhaylovskoye accounts for 52.0% of the district's total population.[3]
