Milan Chamling Rai (born 20 March 1980) also known as Milan Chams, is a Nepali film director and producer. He is a prominent figure in the Nepali film industry who has received many awards and is highly praised by film critics. His most notable award to date being the National Film Award for Blind Rocks (2018) as Best Director. Outside of the Nepali Film industry, Milan Chams was honoured by the previous President of Nepal, Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandari, the “Jan Seva Shree Padak”, one of the highest civilian awards in Nepal. He was honoured for his efforts and skills in film making and production, and promotions of his skill sets.
He is considered to have popularised going oversees to shoot Nepali films; bringing scenes shot in Norway, Turkey, UK, Romania and Azerbaijan to the Nepali audience. He is a trendsetter, screening Nepali films internationally with red carpet premieres, most notably in Leicester Square, London, United Kingdom with the movie premiere of Gurkha Warrior.
