The Ministry of National Defense (Spanish: Ministerio de Defensa Nacional) of Uruguay is a ministry of the Government of Uruguay that is responsible for coordinating and executing all civil and military activities aimed at preserving the sovereignty, independence and the peace of the country.[1] It is the administrative and executive body of the Armed Forces of Uruguay.[2]

The Ministry is headquartered in the 8 de Octubre Avenue in Barrio Tres Cruces, Montevideo.[3] The current Minister of Defense is Armando Castaingdebat, who has held the position since March 4, 2024.[4]
