Mirpur (Bengali: মিরপুর) is the town and administrative capital of Mirpur Upazila.[4] Mirpur has a special reputation for tobacco production in Kushtia District.[5] The town has nine Wards and 15 Mahallas.[2] It has a population of 22,417.[2] It is 9.22 square kilometer in area and has a 56 percent literacy rate.[2]
