The National Anthem Ordinance is an ordinance of Hong Kong intended to criminalise "insults to the national anthem of China" ("March of the Volunteers"). It is a local law in response to the National Anthem Law of the People’s Republic of China.[1]
Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping made a speech regarding the national anthem legislation in early 2017.[2] The ordinance commenced on 12 June 2020.[3]
今年初,习近平总书记对国歌立法作出重要批示。全国人大常委会高度重视,将国歌法列入2017年立法工作计划。
