The National Green Tribunal Act, 2010[2] is an Act of the Parliament of India which enables the creation of a special tribunal for the expeditious disposal of the cases pertaining to environmental issues.[3] It draws inspiration from Article 21 of India's constitution, on the protection of life and personal liberty, which assures the citizens of India the right to a healthy environment.[4] This Act serves as the basis for the establishment of the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
