Nishiki (錦町, Nishiki-machi)[a] is a town located in Kuma District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 August 2024[update], the town had an estimated population of 10,046 in 3975 households, and a population density of 49 persons per km2.[1] The total area of the town is 85.04 km2 (32.83 sq mi). The town's name is the Japanese word for "brocade", and is used as a name for more than one town in Japan.
