"No Roots" is the debut song by German-Irish singer Alice Merton.[2][3][4] Merton co-wrote the song with producer Nicolas Rebscher.[5][6] The song was released in Europe through Paper Plane Records in 2016 and in the United States by Mom + Pop Music on 2 February 2018.[7]

The song has reached the top 10 in Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, and Israel, and reached the top 20 in Switzerland, and reached number 84 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song has been certified Gold in the United States (RIAA),[8] and Platinum in Germany (BVMI) and France (SNEP).[9][10] It was added to the 'A' List of the digital UK station Radio X in March 2018 and was also receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1 and the UK's most popular station BBC Radio 2.
