Novovarshavsky District (Russian: Нововарша́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-two in Omsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,200 square kilometers (850 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Novovarshavka.[1] Population: 24,450 (2010 Census);[3] 27,461 (2002 Census);[7] 28,273 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Novovarshavka accounts for 24.1% of the district's total population.[3]
