Omar (Arabic: عمر, romanizedʻUmar) is a 2013 Palestinian drama film directed by Hany Abu-Assad. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival[1] where it won the Special Jury Prize.[2] It was shown at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.[3] The film was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards.[4] It won Best Feature Film at the 2013 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.[5] The film was screened at the United Nations in New York on 1 May 2014.[6]
