It is also one of the 7 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency.[1] As of the 2024 Indian general election in Kerala, the seat is vacant as former MLA Shafi Parambil of INC is elected as MP from Vadakara Lok Sabha Constituency.[2]
