Panpanzee the chimpanzee (1985 – February 9, 2014 at the age of 28–29 by diabetes complications), was born at the Language Research Center at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.[1] She lived the rest of her life at the Great Ape Trust in Iowa.[2] Her half-brother is Kanzi, a famous bonobo. Kanzi learned 348 lexigram symbols and over 3,000 words from the English language over her lifespan.[3]
