Parfenyevsky District (Russian: Парфе́ньевский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,460 square kilometers (950 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Parfenyevo.[1] Population: 4,515 (2021 Census);[8] 6,391 (2010 Census);[3] 7,857 (2002 Census);[9] 8,955 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Parfenyevo accounts for 44.9% of the district's total population.[3]
