John Patrick "Pat" Bieter (March 13, 1930 – January 27, 1999) was an American politician and educator. A member of the Democratic Party, Bieter served as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 1996 until his death in 1999.

Bieter, who married a woman of Basque descent, was noted for his involvement in Basque-American community affairs in Boise.[1] Following his death in a car accident in 1999, he was succeeded by his son Dave Bieter, who went on to serve as the long-time mayor of Boise.
