Peacock is an American over-the-top subscription streaming service owned and operated by Peacock TV, LLC, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal Media Group . Named after the NBC logo , the service launched on July 15, 2020.[ 3] [ 4] [ 5]
The service primarily features series and film content from NBCUniversal studios and other third-party content providers (such as WWE and Hallmark Channel ), including television series, films, news, and sports programming. Peacock initially debuted in free, "Premium", and "Premium Plus" plans, with the free version offering a limited selection of content, and Premium Plus offering ad-free video on-demand content and streaming of NBC affiliates; since January 2023, the free tier is no longer available as an option to new customers unless their subscription lapses.
