Penzensky District (Russian: Пе́нзенский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,823.8 square kilometers (1,090.3 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kondol.[1] Population: 51,308 (2010 Census);[3] 41,318 (2002 Census);[7] 41,323 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Kondol accounts for 6.5% of the district's total population.[3]
