Petukhovo (Russian: Петухово) is an alkaline lake[1] in Klyuchevsky District, Altai Krai, Russian Federation.[2]
The lake is located at the western edge of the Krai. The Russia-Kazakhstan border lies 35 kilometers (22 mi) to the southwest. The nearest inhabited places are Petukhi, close to the southern shore, and Makarovka, near the northwestern end. Klyuchi, the district capital, lies 18 kilometers (11 mi) to the west.[3][4]
In 1998 the lake was declared a natural monument of regional significance. Petukhovo is a soda lake and there is a soda plant operating near it that has been extracting raw material from it for over a century.[5][1]
