Phillips Exeter Academy (often called Exeter or PEA) is a coeducational university preparatory private school for boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12, as well as postgraduate students. Located in Exeter, New Hampshire in the northeastern United States, it has been well-known and well-regarded since its founding, and routinely appears at the top of national and international rankings of independent schools.

Exeter has educated American leaders in many professions over many generations -- to include one U.S. President; twenty State and Territorial Governors; many Cabinet officials, Senators, Congressmen, and members of the Diplomatic Corps; multiple College and University Presidents; leading Corporate CEOs and technological innovators; four-star officers in each of the military services; and influential doctors, lawyers, scientists, thinkers, teachers, artists, authors, and journalists. Alumni have been recipients of Nobel Prizes, the Medal of Honor, Pulitzer Prizes, the National Book Award, the Bancroft Prize, the Fields Medal, MacArthur Fellowships, Rhodes Scholarships, Oscar, Emmy, and Tony Awards, and Olympic Gold Medals.
