Phoenix (Japanese: 火の鳥, Hepburn: Hi no Tori)[a] is a 1978 Japanese jidaigeki film written and directed by Kon Ichikawa.[2][1] It is based on the "Dawn" storyline from Osamu Tezuka's manga of the same title.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Himiko, the queen of Yamatai, orders her subordinates to search for the Phoenix, which is said to have eternal life for those who drinks its blood.[10]
