Pizza capricciosa (Italian: [ˈpittsa kapritˈtʃoːza, -oːsa]; lit. 'capricious/whimsical pizza') is a style of pizza in Italian cuisine prepared with mozzarella cheese, Italian baked ham, mushroom, artichoke and tomato.[1][2][3] Types of edible mushrooms used may include cremini (white mushrooms)[3][4] and others. Some versions may also use prosciutto (a dry-cured ham), marinated artichoke hearts, olive oil, olives, basil leaves,[3][5] and egg.[6] Some versions may be prepared using a thin crust.[6] Although it has similar ingredients to pizza quattro stagioni, they are arranged differently.[7]
